DonorsChoose Signature

Frequently Asked Questions

What is this?

It's an email signature that always shows the latest/best DonorsChoose proposals.

What is DonorsChoose?

DonorsChoose.org is an online charity connecting people to classrooms in need. Teachers post projects, and individuals can browse projects and fund them.

Why would I want this?

Most of us spend a significant part of our life reading emails; this harnesses some of that attention to help classrooms that need it. It's a good way to remind people that these projects are out there. Please don't spam people with the signature.

How does it work?

I'm glad you asked! It uses a special technology called Movable Ink (my company) that allows emails to change after they're sent. So you just set the signature in your email client, and every time someone views one of your emails, they'll see the newest/most urgent proposals. As some shameless self-promotion, if you send out emails and want to do something really cool with them, check us out:

Where did you get all of those excellent buttons?

The buttons, the postage stamp, and a few other design elements are from premiumpixels.com by Orman Clark. He also sells some very nice Wordpress themes.

Who am I?

My name is Michael Nutt. I work for the aforementioned Movable Ink in New York City. I built an open source real-time pageview visualization called Hummingbird. You can follow me on Twitter: @michaeln3.
